Dunedin Harbour Regatta

Mrs C Sinclair —

Columba rowers demonstrated their expertise at rowing in all weather conditions at the North End Regatta on the weekend of the 13th of November.

On Saturday, 13th of November the Columba College rowing club attended the North End Rowing club regatta. The weather was predicted to be horrible, but it held off for us to be able to get out there and compete in a few races.

Columba had crews in a number of races and came away with at least five first places.  This was a good learning experience for the rowers and their crews as the water was rough and it was raining on and off.

The crews had to work together in these conditions as they were not what a usual rower likes to be rowing on. It's encouraging to have such enthusiastic novices and we will be looking forward to seeing them progress through the season.

Overall, Columba rowing came third on points which was fantastic! What only a busy and exciting season we have lined up for us.
