Learning Engagement Report : Years 7-13

Mrs Duthie —

Look for this today and every three weeks thereafter.

The Learning Engagement Report is intended to be a dynamic document which provides timely, relevant and effective feedback. It will be emailed to you and provides a snapshot of your daughter’s current performance in class. It covers academic progress and engagement with the learning. Both aspects are graded on a 1-4 scale (with 4 being the highest). The expectation is that students should be gaining 3 in both aspects.

While each report provides a ‘snapshot’ of learning, the document also shows the patterns of progress across the year.

Actual attendance in the class is also indicated. Nb. There may have been quite legitimate reasons for non-attendance such as illness, a curriculum trip in another area, sporting involvement and so on. The attendance rate will not discriminate between justified and non-justified absences. It simply tells how often a student was in that particular class.

Learning Engagement covers the following:

  • Consistent Effort
  • Participating Positively in Class (good behaviour, interacts well with others, asks questions, seeks feedback, appropriate device usage)
  • Prepared for Class (punctual, correct equipment, homework completed)

Academic performance is meeting academic expectations both at a personal level and at a national level.

The grades 1-4 will be used for both of the categories with:
4 - Exceeding Expectations
3 - Meeting Expectations
2 - Not Yet Meeting All Expectations
1 - Consistently Not Meeting Expectations
