Lockdown Reflections

Dr Macleod —

Over the last two weeks, middle-school students have been given the opportunity to reflect on their experiences of the lockdown.

We have all been through - and continue to go through - a significant event. In light of this, it is important to find safe and appropriate ways to acknowledge our experiences.

In Religious Education classes, we have engaged with two reflective activities to help us to process the lockdown. The first was a more personal, journaling-style activity. The other gave students opportunity to 'post' their reflections on the wall using the templates: 'I felt...', 'I noticed...', 'I missed...', 'I am grateful for...', and 'I pray/hope that...'. Students are to be commended for their honesty and mutual respect in these activities.
