Sporting success

A round up of the recent achievements of some of our sport-loving students. 

Figure Skating
Katie Sewell is the Otago Southland Advanced Novice Ladies Figure Skating Champion. This is her third win this year and she has also qualified for Nationals.

Gymnastics

Congratulations to Amaya Leslie on a gaining two silver medals at the recent Otago Gymnastics championships. These were won on the bar and beam, we wish Amaya all the best in her upcoming events before the national champs.

Karate

Congratulations to Ella Mercer Black in Year 12 who won 2 medals at the Karate Nationals last month. She received a bronze in Kata and silver in Kumite.

Netball

Well done to our Year 5&6 Columba Black Netball Team, they played in the final of the Year 6 Grade in their Tuesday competition. Although they hadn't beaten Maori Hill all season they all played really well and won the game 33-22.

Thank you to Callie Turner for coaching the team, also the support of Mrs Wafer & Mrs Turner and to all the families who supported the team.

NZ Highland Dancing

This is Luna Koyama in Year 8. She competed in the National Highland Dancing Championships during the school holidays and won her 12 and under 14 grade! Luna gained 4 first places, a second and a sixth. She also competed in under 16 events and gained third, sixth and tenth places.
