Anti Bullying Message

Mrs M Small —

The Year 4 class have been talking about how we can make our school a bully free zone. The KiVa programme and the 'Elgregoe Show' both have a similar message and, as part of our homework, we wrote a piece of poetry to support this message. Attached is a selection of our poems.

Use your W.I.T.S.

Sometimes unkind words are spoken,

It can cause feelings to be broken,

So it’s important to care, accept

To be responsible, trustworthy and respect.

If you feel your being pushed or hit,

Remember to use your W.I.T.S.

These things will help I am sure

We can stop bullying from happening any more.

It’s great to be kind as it makes everyone feel good

So look after others and do as you should.

It’s good to be helpful, kind and not mean

Because being a bully is worse than it seems.

(Audrey Hayde)

Cool Kids

Cool kids are the ones who share and care.

Cool kids, cool kids everywhere.

They like to play out in the sun, caring, helping everyone.

So if you care and share you’re a cool kid right there.

Stop

Bullies, why do you bully? Stop it.

Understanding what you do can hurt others.

Laughing at others is not ok.

Laughing with them is ok.

You can choose to be kind, it is a choice.

I choose to be kind to everyone around me.

Nice people who are kind have more friends.

Good to be kind to everyone.

STOP BULLYING PLEASE

(Lucas Ari Choie)

How to have fun at break time

If you’re playing a game let everyone play

As it's more fun that way.

If you’re being a little bossy think of what others might say “it’s not fun that way”

Don't be too loud

Make your teachers proud.

Don’t push, don't shove when someone is wondering about.

Make everyone happy you’ll make more friends that way.

The more you get the happier everyone is.

And remember, let everyone play, it's more fun.

Yay!

My first day of school

My first day of school

My heart thumping in my chest

I was led to my class with palms sweaty and my mind racing

Would I have any friends?

Would I have anyone to play with?

Looking around with fear

Kids racing to the mat

Doubt disappearing as a little voice said “Hi”

New friendships are being made

A class so accepting

My nerves fade away

New friends to laugh and play with

Thankful that everyone is so kind

I feel like I fit in and like I’m not new anymore
