Welcome to our new International Students

Ms L Stirling —

At the start of this term, we welcomed five new international students to Columba College. All five girls have started to settle into school life in New Zealand and are getting used to the cooler temperatures of a Dunedin autumn.

Vy is a Year 11 student who comes from Subang Jaya in Malaysia. Before coming to New Zealand, Vy studied at an international middle school in her hometown. Vy likes watching movies, roller blading and playing computer games. She is looking forward to making new friends, travelling around New Zealand and a change in education system.

Eva is a Year 10 student who comes from Nanjing in China. Before leaving China, Eva studied at a middle school in Changzhou. Her hobbies include reading and watching anime. Eva is looking forward to improving her English and making new friends.

Ping is a Year 10 student who comes from Bangkok in Thailand. Before coming to Columba College, she was a middle school student in her hometown. Ping enjoys swimming, drawing, playing the piano, reading and playing computer games. She is really looking forward to making lots of kiwi friends and living in a place with fresh air and a clean environment.

Jiwon is a Year 8 student who comes from Busan in South Korea. Before coming to Columba College, she was a middle school student. Jiwon enjoys drawing, eating chocolate and playing with friends and family in her spare time. She is looking forward to learning English and making new friends.

Chaewon is a Year 6 student and is Jiwon's younger sister. Back in South Korea, she went to primary school in her hometown. She loves painting, walking and playing games in her free time. Chaewon is excited to make lots of friends and have fun in Dunedin.
