Aerobics Honours

Miss Turnbull —

Olivia Ferris in Year 12 has been selected to compete as a New Zealand Competitive Aerobics Federation (NZCAF) individual at the 2020 FISAF Super Series Australian Nationals in Victoria, Australia in May.

To be selected, students had to be recommended by the judging panel at NZCAF nationals and had to have made it to finals for their individual routines. Overall, 9 girls were identified in NZ and they are all from the lower half of the South Island - St Hilda’s Collegiate, Queens High School, Verdon College, Southland Girls High School and Columba College. These aerobics athletes are competing in Junior Novice, Senior Novice and Cadet categories. Olivia will take part as a Junior Novice due to being under 16 years old.

These girls are making history as NZCAF has never been invited to this event and are considered “guests”.  The group are however, still seen as equals when competing and will be treated accordingly throughout the competition.

Columba College would like to congratulate Olivia for this fantastic achievement and wish her all the best for her trip next year.
