Sevens is a hugely successful and inclusive sport at Columba.

We currently have two senior teams that train together with our two dedicated coaches, Bob Sinclair and Mel Fowler, and play two games every Wednesday. There is a wide range of abilities and everyone who is interested in the sport is encouraged to come along and give it a go. Every year Columba is seeing an increase in the number of players registering for sevens, and this offers a wonderful opportunity for players to meet new people, while playing an intensive sport in a fun environment and learning new skills along the way. In recent years four players, Emma Dermody, Olivia Fowler, Meg Sycamore and Maia Joseph have all been invited to New Zealand zone trials as well as many of our players being identified as emerging talent. 2019 also saw our Senior A team winning the Otago Secondary Schools competition, and our Senior B team competing strongly each week, winning the majority of their games.
