Otago Secondary Schools Tennis Tournament

Mrs G Beardmore —

Despite a dismal start to the day and rain clouds looming, the Otago Secondary School Tennis Champs finally got underway at the Logan Park Stevenson Tennis Centre with Columba College being well represented.

Some dedicated squidgy work on arrival at the courts allowed play to get underway at Logan Park for the Otago Secondary School teams tennis tournament on Wednesday, 16th February. Columba College had six players entering the champs, in three teams:

Columba Navy - Crystal Chiang (Year 10) and Erin O'Neill (Year 12).

Columba White - Phoebe O'Donnell (Year 12) and Nora Paicu (Year 12).

Columba Green - Alice Porter (Year 9) and Alexi Sheehan (Year 9).

A strong field of competitors from St. Hilda's Collegiate, Kavanagh College, Queens High School, and Columba College made for a great day of tennis and all players relished the chance to get out and play in the current climate of red restrictions and community protection frameworks.

Congratulations to all our tennis players who represented the school with pride and grace. A great display of sporting etiquette!
