Snowflakes, waffles, punch and winter songs carried us into the German winter
With the southern hemisphere currently being in the middle of winter, the Year 9 and 10 German students made the most of some chilly days in Dunedin
To get a feeling of how winter and Christmas is marked and celebrated in Germany, the students created some delicate cut-out snowflakes to decorate the classroom windows using a German step-by-step tutorial. To round up the winter atmosphere, we ‘ve been baking waffles and enjoying them with Zimt (cinnamon), Apfelmus (apple sauce), Puderzucker (icing sugar) and a hot punch.
Warm regards from the German classroom to all Columba students and parents!
Schöne Winterferien wünschen,
- Year 9 & 10 German students, Herr Moore and Frau Renner
