Last Rāmere, the school had some more very exciting news. Mrs Nicol announced at the end of chapel that our new Deputy Principal was Mr Everett. The news was received with great joy and excitement especially from our Year 13 group who have had the privilege of being under Mr Everett's guidance and wisdom for their whole schooling at Columba. Mr Everett received a very enthusiastic standing ovation led by the year 13s and the student body, there was a great feeling of excitement in the Hall.

We are so proud of Mr Everett, as we know how awesome he will be in his new role of Deputy Principal. Mr Everett has been a Principal and Associate Principal at other schools already, so we know our College will be in capable hands!  At Columba, Mr Everett has taught many students in Science, Chemistry and Mathematics for the last five years, and it would not be an exaggeration to say he is definitely high up the list of favourite teachers! His patience is felt, and he has a special way of explaining things to do with Chemistry and general life advice which each particular student can understand. He is very approachable, and is always down for a chat. As Year 13s we will really miss Mr Everett's guidance, but we know he will be fantastic in his new role.
