Miss D Turnbull —

The Senior team (predominantly Years 9 & 10) has had an outstanding season and is currently unbeaten in the Dunedin competition having won five games, scored 35 goals with eight against, and will play in the final next week against OBHS B!

This is an amazing result for the team with dedication and commitment evident across the season with team members consistently committing to weekly training and optional swimming that has enabled the team to develop significantly over the past few months - the results speaking for themselves.

Coach Rob Jefferies highlights the rise of this team from 2022 where they finished bottom of the table to 2023 where they are unbeaten – a testament to the dedication, attitude, and effort of the team with special acknowledgment to the coaching from Isaac Aitken and Brenna Lyons.

The team is heading to the South Island Year 9/10 tournament in Blenheim at the end of the year and will be very competitive. The good news is that they have only really just begun with the group with respect to water polo training and that they can only get better from here – watch this space!

The Year 7/8 Columba Intermediate team this year consisted of a fabulous group of students who are new to the sport – the team has only lost one game and also has a semi-final on Friday – a great result!
