Elizabeth has been selected as a Finalist in the SGCNZ/Dawn Sanders Shakespeare Costume Design Competition, 2024. Her stunning design, a clever costume concept for the Old Hamlet (the Ghost of Hamlet’s Father), along with the comprehensive construction detailing, and apposite rationale, impressed the selection panel so much that they were stunned to realise Elizabeth is only fifteen years old!

Elizabeth's design will now be made by a professional dressmaker and then modelled in the Prize-Giving Ceremony at the 2024 annual SGCNZ National University of Otago Sheilah Winn Shakespeare Festival (UOSWSF) on Sunday, 2nd of June at the St James Theatre in Wellington. Following this, Elizabeth's design, as well as those of the other three finalists, will be displayed for six weeks in July/August in the Exhibition at Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre in London!

Whoever is announced as the Supreme Winner of the Costume Design Competition is offered a place at SGCNZ’s National Shakespeare Schools’ Production (SGCNZ NSSP) week-long course from 28 September - 6 October in Dunedin this year. Columba College wishes you the best of luck, Elizabeth!
