Mrs E Harris — Dec 14, 2021

Prize-giving was a fantastic way to end the academic year with a celebration of students successes and recognition of our wonderful Year 10 cohort as they transition from Middle into Senior School.

As well as prizes and awards for students exhibiting good discipline and upholding the special character of the school, girls were acknowledged for demonstrating strength in a particular subject. The biggest change to the format was the introduction of a cup for the 'Best All-round Student' as well as a book prize and cup for the 'Top Scholar' at Years 7, 8, 9 and 10. The Cooper Prize is now awarded to the Year 10 student who demonstrates consistent self-discipline, diligence and conscientious. The winner of this prize is a role model for all Middle School students - such commendable attitude and application is the foundation to a successful life both in and beyond school.

We were also thrilled to presented Year 10 Monet Morrison with a Manu Pounamu award and Year 7 Beth Elder with the ICAS medal for the top English score in New Zealand.

A special mention must go to Naomi Yehezkely for her superb performance on the piano. Thank you to our 2022 Head Girl, Helen Li, for providing music as the staff and Year 10 students left the Hall.

Due to Covid restrictions, whanau were unable to attend but thanks to the magic of live-stream technology, our audience was the biggest we've ever had, with whanau and friends who live overseas able to be part of the celebration.

Well done, girls, and congratulations on all your hard work this year!
