Hockey wrapped up at the end of last term with another successful season from our teams.

It was finals week, and all four Columba teams had made their respective finals!

In Division 3 (6 aside), the two Columba teams finished at the top of the table making for an all-Columba final!  The younger Green team had won their previous encounter, with the older Blue team out for revenge!  A great game was played, with plenty of goals scored and the Blue team coming out on top!  Thank you to Mr Chambers for coaching the Green team throughout the season to the runner-up position. 

The 2nd XI were undefeated all season in Division 2, as were their opponents in the final, St Hilda's 2nd XI.  Our girls played very well in what we knew would be a very even game, with a draw at the full-time hooter!  A penalty shoot-out ensued, with three of our girls having to take on the goalie one-on-one!  Unfortunately, the older and more experienced St Hilda's players were too strong in the shoot-out, winning Division 2.  We are very proud of our 2nd XI and how much they have improved this season.  Special thanks to Harriet Cory-Wright for coaching the team this season, and to Mr Ant Lobb for helping with coaching.

The First XI also went throughout the local competition undefeated, with draws through the season with local rivals St Hildas's.  Another close game was also anticipated, and it proved to be so!  Columba went up 1-0 early, only for St Hilda's to level the score.  They then went up 2-1 in the second half, with Columba unable to find the equaliser.  Special thanks to ex-girl, Lily Le Brun for coaching the team through this very unusual season.

Nikita Peterson-Solomon was awarded the Shona Harvey Cup for the secondary school player of the year across all schools.  Congratulations, Nikita on this fabulous achievement!

As hockey makes way for the summer codes, we thank and farewell our five Year 13 students for their contributions to Columba hockey.  We wish Nikita Peterson-Solomon, Ashleigh McDonald, Cierra Reid, Angelique Peyroux and Madison Flaws all the best and look forward to them continuing their hockey journey in the future.
