On the 16th & 17th September 2023, 6 athletes represented Columba College with pride and passion at the NZCAF Sport Aerobics National Championships in Lower Hutt. They results they achieved were a credit to their training, dedication, and coaching direction over the many months preparing.

Columba College had two pairs in the Intermediate Sport Aerobic teams category including Holly and Charlotte, and Olivia and Sophie. These two dynamic duos were one of the first to compete for the weekend and both teams performed outstanding technical and artistic routines. They were placed in the top 5 for heats which qualified them for finals on Sunday.

Congratulations to Holly and Charlotte who won 3rd place and to Liv and Sophie for placing 5th overall.

In the Intermediate Individual category, Kate performed a beautiful clean routine with high energy and flair.

Our last competitor of the day was Danielle in the Junior Secondary Open Novice Individual category. Dani put her heart and soul into her routine and we were super proud of her resilience.

A huge thank you to past Columba student Emma McCaughan for going above and beyond in coaching the girls this season. A well-respected 'old girl' from Columba who has a special talent for coaching through her kindness, enthusiasm, and patience, along with her excellent skill and artistic knowledge. Thank you also to Josie, Lucy, and Ellery for their coaching and support across the season.

Other Columba College athletes who represented Jump Start Aerobics included Camryn, Charlee, Lucy and Ellery.

Congratulations to Camryn and Charlee for placing 2nd in the Pre-Choregraph Secondary Team category and to Ellery and Lucy for placing 2nd in their team Adrenaline in FISAF Junior Grande Fitness category. 

A wonderful weekend of artistic talent on show, and the Columba College Community is extremely proud of all who attended the event over the weekend. Thank you also to the wonderful group of parents who made a big effort to accompany the students to the event in Wellington in support of our athletes. A great team effort!
