2018 Chinese Prize Giving

Miss Gardiner —

The 2018 Chinese Prize Giving was at Otago Girls High School on Tuesday 13 November from 6-8pm.

Columba College was awarded the 'Best School' in the organisation, and Ms Ding and Miss Wu were awarded 'Best Coaches'.

Students also won many prizes. Here are the winners of the 2018 NZ Chinese Calligraphy Competition (including hard pen and brush pen).

Primary Category:

Hard Pen

  • 1st Prize: Year 6 Aminah Ahmad
  • 2nd Prize: Year 6 Thandie Chiruka and Year 5 Hebe Song
  • 3rd Prize: Year 6 Georgia Houghton

Brush Pen

  • 1st Prize: Year 6 Georgia Houghton
  •  2nd Prize: Year 5 Alexandra Pratley


Intermediate and Secondary Category:

Hard Pen 

  • 2nd Prize: Year 12 Kana Aoshima
  • 3rd Prize: Year 12 Seohyun Han, Year 8 Koh Miyamichi, Year 8 Mabel Lee, Yr 7 Michelle Chan

Brush Pen 

  • 3rd Prize: Year 9 Maya Bromby, Year 8 Koh Miyamichi, Year 8 Mabel Lee

Year 10 Alexandra Crawford also received a Merit Prize in the  2018 NZ Chinese Calligraphy Competition.

At this prize giving, they also awarded prizes for '2018 HSK and YCT examinations' and the '2018 Excellence student's awards', to follow are the list of winners  -
