Four Columba students participated in the 2018 Otago region Chinese Speech Competition at Tahuna Intermediate School.

On 8 May 2018, four Columba students participated in the 2018 Otago region Chinese Speech Competition at Tahuna Intermediate School. They were:  George Wong and Emily Prout (both Year 10),  Hannah Prout (Year 13) and Eleanor Dunn (Year 12).

Hannah won 1st place and Eleanor won 3rd place in the Senior category, Emily won 2nd place and Georgia won the Distinguish award in the Junior category. Mrs Ding won the "Best Coach" award. 

Hannah and Emily went to Christchurch to attend the South Island Final Speech Competition on Sunday 20 May. Victoria Wu (MLA) was the group leader who travelled with them to Christchurch. As a result, Hannah Prout came 2nd in Senior category, Emily came 3rd place in Junior category. 

Now they will be going to Auckland National Final Competition on 4 August 2018. Best of luck to those girls!
