Miss D Turnbull — Jul 5, 2022

Columba College had a number of students compete in the Otago Short Course Championships held in Dunedin at the beginning of July.

Poppy Henderson - female 16 and over

Sophie Wellington - female 11 years

Gwendolyn Somerville - female 10 years and under

Alice Jefferies - female 11 years

Outstanding swimming was undertaken by all students. We are extremely proud of their effort and commitment as they all achieved many Personal Bests. The competition level is at an incredibly high standard at the moment around the Otago Region which highlights how hard our students are training on a weekly basis. All of the swimmers are showing wonderful determination, dedication, and drive to succeed. Well done to you all.

South Island Results from a few weeks back were:

Ashlea Law - 17-18 year girls

Emma Morton - 16-year girls

Poppy Henderson - 17-18 year girls

Poppy also competed at the Otago Secondary School Swim Champs at the end of May and gained the following placings in the 15 and over girls age category:

It has been a huge couple of months in the pool for our athletes and we would like to wish Emma Morton and Poppy Henderson all the best as they attend the National Swimming Championships in Hamilton later this month.
