On a foggy Wednesday morning this week - 27 Students in Years 5, 6, 7, and 8 represented Columba at the Dunedin Primary Schools Triathlon held at Port Chalmers.

Columba had two teams in Year 5, three teams in Year 6 and two teams in our intermediate department, we also had 3 super keen athletes competing as individuals. For some students, this was their first experience with triathlon and these memories will be treasured for years to come.

The athletes all performed to their very best and what was most pleasing was the fantastic support they showed cheering each other on - moving between the run, bike, and swim legs.

We had some fantastic results – some are listed some below:

• Anna (Y8) Girls placed 3rd in the individual race.
• Samuel (Y6) Boys placed 6th in the individual race.
• Emerson (Y5) Girls placed 3rd in the individual race.
• The Columba Comets (Charlotte, Lexi, and Georgie) placed 2nd in Year 5 Girls.
• The Columba Stars (Abrielle, Matilda, and Gwendolyn) placed 4th in Year 6 Girls.
• The Columba Blaze (Emily, Anabelle, and Eivissa) placed 5th in Year 7 Girls.

Congratulations to all those who participated, you did yourselves, and our school, very proud. A big thank you to Chloe and Pene for being such wonderful parent helpers and of course to all our families, who always play a huge role in supporting these stars!
