The International Department was able to have their annual start-of-year BBQ after several years of Covid cancellations.

On Friday, the 23rd of February, the International Department organised a barbecue party for all the international students, their families, homestay families, and agents. The purpose of the evening was to gather together to celebrate the start of the year and reconnect with each other. The weather was perfect, and the atmosphere was lively and cheerful. There was a lot of fun going on.

The International students made a substantial number of chicken skewers, with different ingredients, such as mushrooms and bell peppers. Many people participated in the preparation. Some students were in charge of cutting chicken, some students were responsible for washing mushrooms and cutting them and the rest of the students put together the skewers. With the help of Mrs Elliotte’s husband, the students were able to help out with the cooking process. It was an evening of lots of delicious BBQ meats, salads, and sweet treats - including barbecued giant marshmallows.

Students and their families had a great time on Friday night. I am sure that they made new friends, and enhanced their friendships with each other.
