Young Columba Athletes Compete at the Caledonian

Mrs G Beardmore —

Columba College is proud to celebrate the success of our young athletes who represented Otago at the Triangular Athletics Meet last weekend. Competing at the Caledonian against athletes from across Canterbury and the lower South Island, an amazing amount of talent was on show during the track and field events.

Emerson Hawken (Year 3), Isabella van Aart (Year 6), Ruby Nicholson (Year 7) and Harlow La Hood (Year 7), shined bright in their yellow and blue for Otago, competing in a number of track and field events during the day of competition.

Emerson Hawken placed 4th in the shot put for her age category, and 2nd in the 4x100m relay with her Otago teammates.

Isabella van Aart came 4th in her 200m sprint race, and Ruby Nicholson also came home in 4th place for her 100m sprint.

Harlow La Hood achieved an impressive 1st place in the 200m sprint, and 3rd in her 100m sprint race (10-Year-Old Girls). What an awesome effort!

Well done, girls, Columba College and the Sports Department are extremely proud of you all!
