The Columba College gold team won the Girls year 7&8 competitive grade on Friday night.

It was an exciting match up with Tahuna's top team. Columba College won the first set but Tahuna came back strong in the second game to win the set and force a 10-point tie breaker. Some great serving and strong rallies from both teams kept the score tight. Columba almost lost when Tahuna pushed the score to 10-9 in their favour. However, you have to win by two. Columba won the serve back and scored three straight to win it 12-10.

Some of our players practised three times per week and showed an exemplary commitment to volleyball and their team. All three teams really came together in the final few weeks and finished with strong results. Keep it up over the summer and we will see you next year in the Junior league.

The gold team members would like to thank Mr. Brett Daily for giving up his time to coach their team. They all enjoyed practice a lot and all felt their skills had greatly improved. Thanks also to Jenna Paterson and Mr Sparrow for their support all year.
