Whilst the Equestrian Team at Columba is small, the girls show huge heart and dedication towards their sport.

Unfortunately, due to COVID, we have been unable to compete as a team this year. Individually, though, we have had great success throughout our chosen disciplines.

At the National Showjumping Championships, Pippa Collins won the National Junior Rider Championship, with Jessica Hore placing third in the same category.

At the A&P Show in Wanaka, Ella Walker won Supreme Champion Horse and Lily Walker won Supreme Champion Pony. Sophie Greenaway came in overall 3rd in the Novice Saddle Hunter Pony section.

Both Ella and Pippa were awarded Equestrian Blues at the school sports awards.

I would like to congratulate all of the girls for their hard work and individual placings. I have really enjoyed captaining the Equestrian Team over the past 3 years and, although we are a small team, we are very competitive and always strive for success. We aim to do Columba proud in our presentation and achievements. As I come to the end of my final year at Columba, I will greatly miss the Equestrian team and all it has offered me.
