Congratulations to Mia North (Year 4) who is the Junior champion for 2019 in the Kiwi Kids Can Cook competition.

There were 12 junior contestants, and 12 senior from all over NZ cooking last Sunday. 

The first dish Mia prepared was mushroom soup and garlic bread. She progressed to the final heat with this tasty dish. Mia’s final winning dish was koshari. It is an Egyptian street food dish comprising flavoursome rice with a spicy tomato vegetable sauce, topped with crispy onions. Mia has practiced each dish repeatedly for many weeks and worked on her knife skills. 

Everyone said how cool, calm and collected she was in such a high pressure environment - even when the gas stopped working.
