Our Middle School teams showed that reading pays off in the recent Kids' Lit Quiz.

What is the name of the dragon in Lord of the Rings?  Who is Asterix's best friend? What is the name of Harry Potter's daughter? Who wrote the Geronimo Stilton series? 

There were numerous questions about characters, authors, settings and plot in the recent Kids' Lit Quiz to put the most avid readers to the test. But Columba College students were not deterred. Our Middle School teams performed exceedingly well, placing both second and third in the competitive regional challenge last Friday. The teams showed excellent team work, working together in the fast-paced question rounds to find the correct answer. It was exciting to see them climb the points table at the end of each section, falling just 3 points behind the winning team. More importantly, we know that hours of reading lead to their moment to shine,  and we commend them on their expansive knowledge of children's literature. 

Congratulations to Arya, Gemma, Audrey, Lexi, Alice, Hannah, Lily and Lara. We encourage you to keep up the great reading!
