Crossing Ceremony
Our annual 'Crossing Ceremony' took place on Wednesday 22 November for our students in Year 6.
The 'Crossing Ceremony' is aimed at making the transition from Junior to Middle or Intermediate School a celebration and recognition that the Year 6 students are about to start an exciting new stage in their learning journey.
The Year 6 girls crossed the road while Caleb Ung (Columba alumnus) played the bagpipes. They were greeted by their ‘big sisters’ in Year 7. Following lunch, they spent time becoming familiar with the top of Hall Block - the area they will be based in next year.
The Year 6 boys also crossed the road and were met by two of our senior teachers who joined them for lunch and played games with them in the Sports Centre.
Students who are leaving the College to continue their learning journeys elsewhere were presented with a gift from the Old Girls’ Association.
Following the ceremony, we welcomed the parents to join together for coffee, cake, and a chat in the Rose room.
