Run, Bike, Run

Mrs A Bishop —

Year 11 Physical Education students completed their Level 1 duathlon in stunning weather, Wednesday morning.

On a fresh Wednesday morning, all Year 11 PE students put their hard work into practice as they completed a Duathlon down by the harbour. There was a lot of nervous chatter on the way there as the Year 11 classes have been training all year for this event. All students ran four kilometres around the stadium, transitioned to their bikes for a nine kilometres bike ride and then powered through the final two kilometres run.

We were very proud of the effort that everyone put in, with all students completing the duathlon in the allocated time. Throughout the training and the event, the students showed an incredible amount of grit and determination. There were a number of standout performances, including Anya Rhodes completing the event in an astonishing 45.24 mins. It was great to see the students supporting and encouraging each other; I think this contributed to the excellent results. We would like to thank the parents and teachers who brought bikes down and helped out throughout the race. It would not be possible to offer these experiences without your support.
