A Great Opportunity to improve confidence Umpiring Netball!

Mrs G Beardmore —

Dunedin Netball is presenting an opportunity not to be missed for all netball players (and non-players) wanting to upskill in the area of netball umpiring. We appreciate that it can be a little scary when you are called up to umpire during the netball season, so we encourage you all to make the most of this fantastic chance to learn!

It is coming up to school holiday time and Dunedin Netball is offering an Introduction to an Umpiring course over this period for those students or young umpires looking to enter the Netball Umpiring space or progress further with their Umpiring.

This offers a great opportunity for students to meet others in the officiating space from their own school and from other schools in Dunedin, and also an opportunity to earn endorsements towards things such as the Centre Theory award, Centre Badge and Zone Theory qualifications.

Dunedin Netball is working hard this year to provide opportunities for learning and development of our umpires with this workshop aimed to help provide a strong base of fundamental skill that new umpires can build on in the future. The Introduction to Umpiring workshop is targeted at Yr 9-13 students who have not umpired at all, or who have some experience and would like to learn more and progress their umpiring. It will be a good opportunity to reinforce knowledge of the rules, ask questions and take part in practical activities that will be useful when it comes to umpiring on a Saturday during the netball competition.

If you have any questions regarding this workshop please do not hesitate to contact Bryn Boyes at Dunedin Netball.
