On Tuesday 21 November we had 29 students compete in the Otago Primary Athletics Championships.

Athletes qualified for the championships by finishing in the top six in field events or by making a final in the track events at the North Zone Athletics.  We had six relay teams compete as well as individuals compete in Sprints, Long Jump, High Jump, Discus, Shot Put, Hurdles and 800m.

We had some amazing results from our Columba students. Lily Ferro competed in the 13 & Over age group and won the 100m Sprint Final, Annabelle Hurst came 2nd in the Long Jump and they combined with Isabel Gallagher and Sophie Bowmar to win the  13 & Over relay race,

Our U11 relay team of Zara Pratley, Mia Revell-Lynch, Poppy Edmond and Imogen Harrison ran an outstanding race in their final to place second and our U12 team of Caitlin Butson, Catherine Lund, Ryan Dailey and Emily Ung ran a strong race to finish third,

Congratulations to all our competitors, you all performed to the best of your abilities and we had plenty of athletes competing in the finals of their events.
