PE in Lockdown!

Mrs Sinclair —

Our middle school PE students have been busy during the lockdown period - take a look!

Four weeks in lockdown and our Year 7-10 students have been busy improving their fitness!  They have been taking part in fitness programmes, learning about nutrition (through baking and cooking meals), learning the names of muscles and bones and learning about the basics of how the body works. Numerous students created life-sized models of the human skeleton - a great addition to the household! Some of our students created their own fitness workouts and had a 'group fitness' session with their friends - uploading this to classroom for us all to see how much fun they were having.

It has been great to see how creative everyone has been and how keen everyone has been to keep moving.  It has been nice to see the 'E' - 'Education' more prominent in our junior PE lessons.  With a bit more time on their hands our students have had the chance to experiment more with activities they never new: 1. existed or 2. they enjoyed!  I am sure they have all learnt (or are beginning to learn) how good it feels to move - even if it is within ones own bubble.

Keep it up middle school!
