Year 10 Fitness

Fitness for a whole term??? Our Year 10 students have shown significant what a determined effort can do for your fitness!

Year 10 Physical Education students have been taking part in personal fitness programmes throughout Term 2.  This has involved fitness testing (pre- and post- training) and taking part in an individual training programme.  After the pre-testing, students devised goals based on areas of fitness they wanted to improve upon. One period per week was instructed by the teacher and the second PE period students took part in a training session they had organised for themselves, based on their individual goals.  The training period was over six weeks long and was followed by post-testing.  

Year 10 set a number of new records (which can be seen on the record board in the gym) and all improved aspects of their fitness.  

One group of Year 10 students devised training sessions around an 'obstacle course' (which can be seen in the photos).  This created great interest from other students who gave it a go during the last fitness session.  This obstacle course was challenging and fun and inspired many to be active.  Well done to Year 10 on a great term of work!
