The annual SADD talent quest

Miss C Gardiner —

This year we had some amazing talent come forward to win some fantastic prizes in the talent quest hosted by SADD (Students Against Dangerous Driving).

On Tuesday, 25th October we had 5 acts perform at a lunchtime in the hall.

First up was Scarlett Wilson who sang 'Chasing Cars' by Snow Patrol to a backing track. She had a gorgeous voice and it was a beautiful performance.

Next up was the drama performance group "Thruple". They wrote their own witty script and the delivery was highly entertaining.

The song "Tequila" by the duo Champs was a light-hearted comedy act that had everyone roaring with laughter.

A band front-lined by Uma Reid did a Taylor Swift rendition.  The music was well played and the band built a great rapport with the audience.

We finished with the Y9 group "AYE!"  comprised of Ariana Smith, Yulia Itadani and Emily Fryer. This three-person dance troupe entertained us right until the end. Their gymnastic moves had the crowd gasping.

The esteemed judges were: policewoman and former student, Ashleigh McDonald, Drama Teacher, Ms Ina Bercinskas, and SADD TIC, Ms Chrystal Gardiner. It was a difficult decision but in the end, there could only be one winner.

1. Thruple

2. Chasing Cars and Taylor Swift renditions

3. "AYE" dance troupe

Well done, everyone!
