Ms S Entwistle — Sep 25, 2020

Congratulations to our 24 Columba students who sat their Speech NZ exams in September and achieved such excellent results!

Students presented in Public Speaking and Communication or Speech and Drama. They presented talks on topics as diverse as ‘The Silk Road’, Euthanasia, and Highland Dancing; shared poems from around the world; presented characterisations as eclectic as Shakespeare’s Ophelia and Juliet in the underworld attending an Anger Management course and a young school leaver experiencing her first job interview with unintentionally funny yet poignant results; gave impromptu welcome speeches, made announcements, provided running commentaries, and created group stories.

Special congratulations to the International students who sat their first Speech NZ Public Speaking and Communication exams. You all exceled yourselves!

A huge thank you to Ms Wootton, our school Librarian, who helped source materials and books for students’ exam resources.
