Unfortunately, just after we started the Year 9 and 10’s favourite topic, Breakfast & At the Pizzeria, we had to go into lockdown.

Under normal/ Level 1 conditions, Y9 German students would have had a big shared breakfast: Frühstück with fresh bread rolls (Brötchen) while using learnt vocabulary and grammar in a real-life context.

We made the most out of the lockdown and started a breakfast competition in Y9, where students had to write about their favourite/Sunday breakfast and what they like to eat and drink (using often, always, and sometimes). Here are some of our delicious Frühstücks pictures.

The Y10 students have been focusing on ordering meals and drinks in an Italian Restaurant. The topic was packed with lots of Italian culture (e.g. songs and pronunciation) and new grammar (e.g. conjunctions and comparative).

I think we are ready to open up our own little Italian restaurant.

The girls also enjoyed writing their poems outside in the sun and produced some beautiful spring/lockdown poems, that were all incredibly written.

We will definitely catch up on our traditional German breakfast and shared Pizza class when we are back at school. All orders must be in German!
