International sports day by Ms C Shi
Ms C Shi — April 11, 2024
On Wednesday 10 April we had the first International Student Sports Day for 2024. It was a curling and ice skating "have a go" session at the Dunedin Ice Stadium.
More than 90 students from Dunedin Secondary Schools signed up, which was very exciting! The students were able to meet international students from other schools and chat about their life in Dunedin. All of them enjoyed the curling and ice skating.
Please read the feedback below from our international students who attended the event:
Yesterday we went ice skating as part of the International Students' Meeting. A lot of international students came to the ice skating rink. We had a go at curling and ice skating, which was exciting. I haven’t played curling before. It was my first time and it was interesting but I've been ice skating many times since I was young. So it wasn't too hard. Also I talked with students from other schools too. I think International Meetings are fun. I hope next time there will be more in the future! – Chohui (Year 9)
This activity made me very happy. It improved my skating skills and I made some friends from other schools. - Emma (Year 10)
This is an unprecedented experience. Yesterday was a really pleasant day. – Charlotte (Year 10)
