This week, we have celebrated our Senior School student's achievements and our Year 13 students' high school graduation.

Last Friday evening, two of our wahine akonga received their special ‘Mana Pounamu’ awards along with all other selected Mãori Rangatahi recipients from ŌTEPOTI and Otago High schools and Kura.

Last week Columba College was honoured to hold its annual Sports awards evening. Back in our Marsh Sports Centre, this year it was a night to be remembered, celebrating the success of sport at our school.

Congratulations to Year 12 student, Nora Paicu, who has received this amazing award.

The Senior A Netball team travelled to Porirua in the second week of the holidays to compete in the Netball New Zealand National Secondary Schools tournament.

Year 9 and 10 Columba Students had an amazing opportunity to hear a talk from NASA astronaut, Dr. Shannon Walker.

This past weekend saw the Columba College Athletics Team join other schools from around the region in welcoming back the Otago Secondary Schools Athletics Championships after a lengthy absence thanks to Covid.

On Thursday, October 27th, the International Department students and staff celebrated Christmas early. It was the final group activity for the year before the seniors started study leave.

The first rowing regatta of the season was an overwhelming success for Columba with all rowers qualifying for A finals.

This past weekend, Columba College attended the SISS Sevens Tournament held in Geraldine. As Columba has many excellent and keen Sevens players, we managed to enter both a U16 and U19 Team.

The Otago U12 Water Polo Team had huge success at the National Olympic Hopefuls tournament recently, winning their grade and being crowned champions!

It was a beautiful day down at the track on Tuesday for the annual North Zone Athletics Championships. Columba had 25 students take part from Years 4-8 with extremely pleasing results!

This week the Year 6 class enjoyed spending some time with the Year 0 class. The classroom buzzed with positive comments and happy smiles.

Years 5 and 6 pupils were excited to be involved in a variety of hands–on science experiences at Bathgate Park School, the venue for the Science Roadshow this year.

This year we had some amazing talent come forward to win some fantastic prizes in the talent quest hosted by SADD (Students Against Dangerous Driving).
