2019 was certainly one to remember for all who were involved in this year's event. Could it be due to the delightful weather we were fortunate enough to have? Or because none of the carts ever went flat on us? Or perhaps it was that we raised more funds than ever before? My guess is the latter.

On Wednesday 11th September, our team of 5 Columba College girls, made up of Molly Woodham, Ashlea Law, Molly Law, Jordan Summers and Gabby White packed up our bags and made our way to Hamilton.

St Kilda Surf Life Saving Club are looking for new life guards.

Last Saturday a team of 9 students headed away to Queenstown for the Peak to Peak Multisport Race with a team of 6 and 2 tandem teams entered.

Year 4 have been learning about the similarities and differences between cultures. We have learnt about different traditions, customs and beliefs. Many of our parents and friends have come to talk to us about cultures that are special to them. It has been fascinating to learn more about the world around us.

On Sunday 15th September, numbers of Columba students participated in the celebration of the Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival at Chinese Garden.

Many congratulations to Lara Seaton (Year 12), who has been awarded a scholarship from the Goethe-Institut to travel to Germany in January 2020.

On Wednesday 18 September the Year 5 and 6 classes attended a workshop at the Dunedin Art Gallery under the leadership of John Neumegen.

On Tuesday, the Junior School had an excellent performance from the Dunedin Chinese Cultural & Arts Association.

We looked at lots of beautiful sculptures and Caroline and Archer even got to help Kalisolaite 'Uhila' create his sculpture!

The French dinner party is always a highlight to senior French class.

Harry Bird ringing the bell in celebration of the first albatross of the 19/20 breeding season to return to Taiaroa Heads. The albatross is LRY and he is 8 years old.

Year 3 have been creating images in the style of Kadinsky during their special art time with Mrs Hannah Breeze. These are their bright colourful art works.
