Course Endorsement

All courses can gain endorsement at either Achieved, Merit or Excellence level. Students must gain 14 or more credits at the respective level within a course within the same academic year. Within the 14 credits there must also be a mix of internally and externally assessed credits – at least 3 credits from each; with the exception of fully internally assessed subjects.

OVERALL LEVEL ENDORSEMENTS

NCEA Certificates can be endorsed with Merit or Excellence overall.

50 credits at Excellence level will earn an NCEA Certificate endorsed with Excellence.

50 credits at Merit level or higher will earn an NCEA Certificate endorsed with Merit.

(If 50 credits are gained with a mix of Merit and Excellence, an NCEA Certificate endorsed with Merit is gained).

COLUMBA COLLEGE ACADEMIC BLUES

Students who gain NCEA Level 1, 2 or 3 with Excellence overall are awarded a Columba College Academic Blue.
