Yesterday 25 students with plenty of parent support travelled through to Balclutha for the annual Otago Primary School Triathlon after qualifying from the Dunedin event earlier in the year.

The 5-day Macpac Hillary Challenge Final is held each year at Hillary Outdoors Tongariro, and is only open to a total of 12 teams, each consisting of 8 students from Year 12 or 13. The teams are scored on their skill, speed and endurance during a 5-day series of outdoor adventure challenges.

The Year 6 Class have been reading 'Wonder' by R J Palacio as our class novel study. We have been focusing on the theme of kindness and the way our actions can impact others.

The Columba Sports Department is super proud of four students who have all been selected in the Southern United U14 Football team, and competed in a regional tournament in Christchurch over the holidays.

Once again Unipol have an excellent opportunity for secondary school aged students to utilise their fabulous facility and keep active during the holidays.

The SISS Duathlon Champs were held over the holidays on a very cold, wet, and windy Invercargill day. The belts of hail, thunder and lightning, did not deter our Columba athletes, who all performed superbly in the conditions and came away with some super results.

In the build up to Christmas, we are encouraging our Junior School pupils to donate an item to Presbyterian Support's 'Growing Taller' programme.
