Student Teachers at Columba

Since February we have had 4 students at Columba from the University College of Education Masters programme. At the beginning of term 1 they were here for two weeks, which enabled them to see how a big school operates, because at Columba there is a lot to see! Few of their college colleagues have the opportunity to see a junior & senior school in operation. They had a chance to see every year level 1-13 and every subject in operation. Seeing the very young students in their classes was definitely a highlight for each of them. One of the students said, “we have had the most enriching experience of all of our colleagues.” Many teachers have been involved with mentoring these teachers as well

They have been here full time since the beginning of this term. Unfortunately, this Friday is their last day with us. They will be missed.

We wish Devyn Gilbert ( Geography, History , Social Studies,) Ruth Perese ( Art, Social Studies), Seamus Gray ( Economics, Maths), and Tim Jones ( Digitech, Maths), all the best for their future in teaching.
