Kids Lit Quiz team.

The competition was very tough and our team did themselves proud. A wrong answer resulted in loss of points and a correct answer gained points. In some instances the quiz master only read 5 -6 words before a team buzzed with the correct answer. The categories known beforehand were: Authors, Book Titles and Opening Lines. The two unknown categories were: Humanoid Creatures and Twosomes. Congratulations to Clara Ballantyne, Alyssa Duthie, Natalie McDonald and Tessa Smith on a wonderful performance. Some of the Y8 students have had their work published in the Extra magazine recently. The stories and poems were written with WW1 as the background. The poems were written by Ryan Dailey (A Mother’s Wait), & Melah McConnachie (Waiting at the Ready), with the stories written by Ripeka Potika (Letter from the War Front), Isabella Cameron (Arrival in Belguim), and Clara Ballantyne (Memory of an Unknown Soldier.)
