Anyone for an Adventure?

Miss TurnbullMay 29, 2019

Columba Multi-sport captain Megan Maslin , and year 11 students Phoebe Ozanne, Caitlin O'Brien and Emily Prout had a great weekend adventure racing in Geraldine at the Hillary Outdoors 6hr race.

They entered into the mixed premier category combining with John McGlashan College and raced to get a spot in the Hillary Challenge 5 day grand final at the Tongariro Centre in the North Island.  Joining our 4 students was Angus Kenny, Will Morshius, Josh Hou and Tom Sullivan. The team finished in 5th place with at total of 1620 points and narrowly missed out on qualifying for the final by a very minimal 60 points!

They completed the race in 5 hours and 53 minutes and both colleges are incredibly proud of the their efforts. Overall the team did incredibly well considering this was the first time taking part in this race against some very tough competition. Many thanks to all the parent support for helping with the event, the students are already excited for next year.

Well done!
