"Columba College teams sweep top three places"

The annual Otago Daily Times Extra! Spelling Quiz for 2019 was held at Otago Girls High School on the 28th May. We had thirty Year 9 and 10 enthusiastic English pupils participating in the competition in ten teams. They all had fun and worked well in their teams answering challenging questions with the round-robin style competition.

The Year 9 team of Poppy Henderson, Aliya Drake and Emma Kinney were crowned the champions in first place with a total of 99 out of a possible 100 marks. We are very proud of their success and congratulate them again.

Another Year 9 team of Olivia Thorn, Catherine Lund and Mabel Lee, together with the Year 10 team of Sophie Bowmar, Vivienne Lau and Maya Bromby were awarded joint second place getters.Congratulations to our three winning teams and all our wonderful spellers.
