We have had a very positive beginning to the new school year. As always seems to happen, the settled summer weather begins when the students return to school! It has been a pleasure this week to see the smiling, happy faces from Year 1 to Year 13.

It was wonderful to gather as a whole school community on Thursday evening. As we look to the year ahead, I think most of us want 2021 to be different from last year, and so the question arises: What does it mean to have hope, real hope, in a broken world?

We want to congratulate those students who went the extra mile and prepared for the rigorous NCEA Scholarship examinations in 2020.

The girls had a lovely day in the sun to wrap up their first week as Year 9 Columba College students.

As part of their first week at Columba, Year 7 has been exploring the school, learning about the important people and places, as well as getting to know one another.

The closure of H&J Smith, our uniform provider, necessitated a change to the Uniform Group. Delays in uniform supply have been causing a problem for more than just our school.

There’s been an increase in the amount of interest in our Rainbow Youth club over the past couple of years, and many people have been asking about who we are and what we do every week. So we thought we’d send out a message to tell our school community a bit more about us.
