Homework

Daily homework includes a weekly memory verse, a book or a poem to read, words to read and sounds to reinforce.

Reading – Your child will bring home a reader to share with you from week 3. Your child may have the same book for a couple of days as this helps to develop their comprehension and support their learning of new words. Time spent reading with you is important!

Word or heart cards - The aim is for instant recognition of each word. This aids with fluency whilst reading.

Sound of the day – Please reinforce the name of the letter and the sound it makes.

Bookbags

You will need to purchase a bookbag when your child starts school. All other primary school stationery is purchased by the school and can be paid for via myKindo. See: section on School Stationery

Bookbags should be at school every day as they are needed for the safekeeping of reading books, homework books and notices. Unfortunately, damaged or lost readers will need to be replaced at your cost.
