Tall Blacks Game
We are excited that Christchurch will be hosting the Tall Blacks vs Saudi Arabia World Cup qualifying game at Christchurch Arena on the 24th of February. The Tall Blacks have not played a game in Christchurch since 2018 so this is a great opportunity for you to see the team before they head off to the World Cup later on this year. Studio One Performing Arts
your local dance school, is currently giving Ballet (R.A.D.), Jazz and Contemporary (A.P.D.A) lessons in your area. Culture Galore is the Council’s annual event that celebrates the ethnic diversity of the city. This year over 30 ethnic groups will be offering cultural performances and demonstration at the free event at Ray Blank Park on Maidstone Rd, showcasing the music, dance, heaps of ethnic food, arts and crafts of cultures from around the world.
Performances range from traditional songs and dances from Iran, Afghanistan, Ukraine, China, Korea, India, Japan, Philippines, Ireland, Poland and more! And you can also sample some of the appetising ethnic cuisines from one of the many food stalls.
As well as amazing performances there is a huge range of have a go activities and fun for the kids, such as:
- Flax weaving
- Calligraphy
- Bouncy castles
- Pedalmania
- Face painting
- NZ Fire Brigade with their fire demonstration kitchen
- Soft archery
