Hells Reading Challenge 2025

Sage Rumble —

Hell Reading Challenge is back for 2025

What is the Hell Reading Challenge?

The HELL Reading Challenge is a well-established programme that has been hugely successful in getting tamariki reading and enjoying the pleasures of stories.

The HELL Reading Challenge is free, and it is so easy! Children read 7 books and record these on the Hell reading challenge form which once completed is exchanged for a pizza wheel in the school library. Children can then exchange their completed wheel for a free 333 kids’ pizza from any HELL store.

How the Reading Challenge works:

  • The challenge is open for students in years 1-8

  • Students wanting to participate can collect a Hell challenge reading form from the school library.

  • Every time they finish a book, they fill in the details of the book on the form. When they have finished seven books, they take the completed form to Mrs Rumble and she will give them a ‘pizza wheel’.

  • They write down books once they read and finish the whole book, it is not for books they have already read.

  • They can take their completed pizza wheel to any HELL Pizza outlet and

  • redeem it for a free 333 Pizza.

  • There is no limit on the number of pizza wheels a student can fill up, provided the wheels are stamped and authenticated by a school teacher or librarian.

  • But only one wheel can be redeemed per child per visit

  • The reading challenge runs for all of 2025

Here are the rules:

  • Each pizza wheel is good for one 333 Kids' Pizza from any HELL Pizza outlet

    nationwide

  • The wheel must be signed by a teacher/librarian, and stamped with the

    official school stamp

  • One pizza per visit per child

  • Wheels are non-transferable for money

  • Children must redeem their free pizza in person, and before Monday 31

    January 2026.
