Under the COVID Red Setting and entry and exit procedures are as follows:

• Parents Are Asked To:
  • Remain outside the school grounds and stay clear of the main gateway. Drop offs by parents and caregivers must, unless there is a valid reason, take place before parents and caregivers get to the school gate and ideally a reasonable distance away, to limit large numbers of people congregating. We have marked social distancing spacing on the pavement outside the school gate. Parents of children in Room 1 – 4 (and children starting Cotswold School for the first time on Thursday 3 February 2022) please refer to further details below.
  • Parents needing to enter the school grounds should do so by prior arrangement – please contact the school office - Telephone: 03 359-8035
  • Make contact with teachers via email in the first instance.
  • Keep social distances at all times with other parents/children and staff
  • Hand sanitise as requested by the school when invited onto the school site.
  • Record their contact details in the Contact Tracing Register when invited onto the school site.
  • Not congregate outside the school gate in groups to socialise/chat before or after school
• Entry and Exit Points (refer attached plan)
  • Morning Entry (Rooms 1 - 26):
    • Front gate on Cotswold Avenue only.
    • Gates to open at 8.30am. This is a controlled entry point.
    • Parents remain outside the school grounds and maintain physical distancing of 2 metres
    • Once inside the grounds children are to move to their classroom, using the hand sanitising units before entering the classroom.
    • No adventure playgrounds or sports equipment to be used before school.
      
  • Morning Entry – Option For New Students & Rooms 1 – 4.
    A number of children in Rooms 1 - 4 are new to school. We have planned for parents of these children to come onto the school site to drop their child at the classroom door provided the following procedure is used.
    • Pedestrian gate beside the Dental Clinic on Cotswold Avenue.
    • Gates to open at 8.30am. This is a controlled entry point.
    • Parents of children in Rooms 1 - 4 may enter via the Dental Clinic and escort their child to the deck area at the back of the relevant classroom.
    • Parents to wear a mask – these should be in place before entering the grounds.
    • Parents are not to enter the classroom unless invited to do so by the classroom teacher.
    • Physical distancing of 2 metres from other parents and children should be maintained
    • Children should use the hand sanitising units before entering the classroom.
    • No adventure playgrounds or sports equipment to be used before school.
  • Afternoon Exit (Family groupings will be released from 2.50pm)
    • Both front and back gates will be open (controlled)
    • Parents remain outside the school grounds and maintain physical distancing of 2 metres. Parents we'd appreciate you identifying for your children a place you can all meet away from the school gate.
    • Children With Cotswold Siblings (All Rooms)
      • Children with siblings at Cotswold School: Senior students with younger siblings to be released at 2.50pm to collect younger siblings from outside classrooms and then move to either the front or back gate to exit the grounds.
    • Children Without Cotswold Siblings (Rooms 1 – 4)
      • Children in Rooms 1 - 4 who do not have older siblings will meet Mr Anderson by the gate on to Cotswold Avenue beside the Dental Clinic. Mr Anderson will only release these children to their parent/caregiver.
    • Children Without Cotswold Siblings (Rooms 5 – 17)
      • Children in Rooms 5 - 17 who do not have older siblings will meet Mrs Fleming-Connell by the gate on to Cotswold Avenue near the Cotswold Kindergarten. Mrs Fleming-Connell will only release these children to their parent/caregiver.
    • Children Without Cotswold Siblings (Rooms 18 – 26)
      • Children in Rooms 18 - 26 will be released by class teachers at 3.00pm to exit the grounds through the gate designated by parents.

Parents please make clear to your child(ren) arrangements for after school and which gate they are to use to leave the school grounds. Please also relay the gate information to anyone else designated to pick your child up. Please do this before your child comes to school.

Parents we'd appreciate you identifying for your children a place you can all meet away from the school gate.
