Staffing Update as at 15 November 2023
Kia ora Whānau
As we draw towards the end of the School year I wanted to share with you some updates on how our School Staff will look for 2024. My thanks to the Board of Trustees and Senior Staff who have been involved in the mahi to put the team together for our tamariki.
We have some members of staff who will no longer be with us in 2024 and I would like to thank you all for your mahi across the years at Cotswold Mātāhae.
Congratulations to Hannah Foster who has won a fixed term position at Oaklands Te Kura o Ōwaka beginning in 2024.
Congratulations to Tracey Buchanan who has won a permanent position at Christchurch Boys High School.
Congratulations to Kat Cotter who will be going to work for Literacy Connections continuing her mahi of supporting learners, an area of strength for Kat.
Special thanks to Fiona McNicholl who has contributed to our School with her work in the New Entrant roll growth class this year. We look forward to seeing her again in the future.
New Appointees
Andrea Smith has been appointed to the role of Learning Support Coordinator starting in Term 1 2024.
Ashleigh Macdonald has been selected for the Science Teaching Leadership Programme and will be taking leave to undertake study across Term 1-2 of next year. Ashleigh will return to us for Term 3 and 4 undertaking a development role in pushing out Science across the School for the remainder of 2024.
We have appointed Katie Hoffman on a 1 year fixed term agreement and she will be working in the Year 6 Team in Room 24.
We wish Samantha Manson and Kate Maloney well as they commence their parental leave at the end of Term 4.
To cover the Parental Leave positions we have appointed Rosalind Quatermass to teach in the Year 2 Team. We have also reappointed Katie White in the Year 3 team.
Congratulations to Sarah Fraser (0.4), Michelle Kinney (0.4), Rebekah Hutchison (0.2) and Megan Lamberg (0.2) who have been appointed to classroom, beginning teacher and team leader release fixed term positions for 2024.
Congratulations to Nina Vailu`u for being appointed as an Across School Teacher for the Tōtaranui Kahui Ako. This role involves Nina working across the Kahui around Culturally Responsive Pedagogy.
Chris Smith has been appointed as a Lead Principal for the Tōtaranui Kahui Ako. He will commence this role at the start of Term 1 2024. This role is in a shared capacity with two other Principals from within our Community of Learning and equates to around 1 day a week working for the Kahui. Paula Fleming-Connell will act up to cover Chris’ duties.
